Knightsbridge Station lies on the Piccadilly Line. That's colour coded on the Tube Map as blue/purple. At all the stations along this line you'll find that sign posting around the station uses the blue/purple colour. This means that people coming onto the platform, whether waiting for a train or getting off a train, know where they are.
Web pages need similar ways of indicating what section users are in and where changes may be taken to new sections (marked by different coding or colour coding as in this example).
